What actually blocks a gutter
Leaf litter is the obvious one, but the real culprits are moss washed off the roof, roofing grit from ageing concrete tiles, and nesting material. That mix compacts into a solid plug at the outlet, which is why a gutter can look clear from the ground and still be holding water. Our drone footage shows you exactly what is sitting in the run.
Flow testing
Clearing is only half the job. We run water through every gutter and downpipe afterwards to confirm it drains properly, because a clear gutter feeding a blocked downpipe or a silted gully will still overflow. If we find a fall problem or a broken joint, we photograph it and tell you.
Combined with roof work
If you are having the roof cleaned, gutter clearing is included. If gutters are all you need, we can usually do it same week, and it is by far the cheapest maintenance job on a house relative to the damage it prevents.
