Block paving
Rotary surface cleaning lifts the dirt without carving lines into the blocks, then we remove the loosened weed growth, treat the joints and refill with kiln dried sand. Skipping the sand is the most common shortcut in this trade and it is why some drives look worse six months after a clean than they did before. The sand is what holds the blocks in place and keeps water out of the sub base.
Resin, tarmac and concrete
Resin bound surfaces need far lower pressure than block paving or the stone starts to release from the binder. Tarmac is softer again. Imprinted concrete usually needs the old sealer stripped before it will take a new coat properly. Each of these is a different job with different kit, and we quote them as such.
Sealing
Sealing is optional and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth it on your surface. On block paving it stabilises the sand, resists oil staining and slows weed return. On a drive that is already breaking up it is money spent papering over a problem, and we will say so.

Driveway Cleaning questions
Yes, kiln dried sand replacement is part of every block paving clean. Cleaning a drive and leaving the joints empty destabilises the blocks and lets weeds back in almost immediately.
Usually a good deal of it. Fresh oil lifts well with a degreaser and hot water. Old stains that have soaked deep into porous concrete or block will fade rather than vanish, and we will tell you which of the two you have when we quote.
Straight away after a standard clean. If we seal the drive, keep vehicles off for 24 hours and avoid turning the wheels while stationary for the first week.
Not at the pressure we use. Resin needs a much gentler approach than block paving, and damage on resin drives is nearly always caused by someone using a turbo nozzle at close range.
